Earth Works

Whether we recognize it or not, nature is a constant force in our lives that physically and emotionally shapes our presence in the world. Our humanity is informed by the land that we inhabit and the inherent tie we maintain with the earth. Earth Works calls on artists to explore the implicit presence of land and earth in our everyday lives. Work in this exhibit reflects on our connection with the natural world, whether that relationship be deferential, scientific, or abusive.

Earth Works is presented by Altered Esthetics as a part of Northern Spark 2017, produced by Northern Lights.mn.

Exhibition Dates: June 9, 2017 - July 2, 2017

Location: The Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55454

Northern Spark: June 10, 8:59 pm - 5:26 am

Reception: June 23, 5:00 - 7:00 pm

The Art of Change

The Art of Change moves from traditional gallery conventions where the audience is told to look and not touch. Viewers have the opportunity to involve themselves in the artistic process through participation resulting in personal experiences with each work of art. This exhibit explores how the audience connects with a work of art by using their senses in addition to sight. The exhibit is collaborative between artists and  viewers to create interactive experiences and changed works of art.

Exhibition dates: July 7th –July 30th

Location: The Southern Theater, 1420 Washington Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55454

Opening Reception: July 7th, 5:00-7:00 pm
